Die ägyptische Muslimbruderschaft ist, so wie der italienische Faschismus und der Nationalsozialismus, aus den Trümmern des Ersten Weltkriegs entstanden. Alle drei politischen Strömungen haben wesentliche ideologische Gemeinsamkeiten: die nationale, rassische oder religiöse Auserwähltheitsidee, die gewaltsame Ausgrenzung anderer, das imperialistische Streben nach Weltherrschaft.
