After many years of preparations, the Humanistischer Verband Deutschlands (HVD - Humanist Association of Germany), the Giordano Bruno Stiftung (gbs), the Humanistische Akademie Deutschland (HAD - Humanist Academy of Germany) and the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft humanistischer Studierender (BAG - Federal Association of Humanist Students) have founded the Bertha von Suttner-Studienwerk. With its help, humanist students shall receive the same support as their religious fellow students.

With previously unpublished images and unusual animations, the documentary explains why Albert's influence on science and society is still underestimated.

After the murder of French teacher Samuel Paty, the Giordano Bruno Foundation reiterated its demand for the abolition of the "blasphemy paragraph" 166 of the German Criminal Code, which it had already raised after the "cartoon controversy" in 2006 and after the terrorist attack on the satirical magazine "Charlie Hebdo" in 2015. The Institut für Weltanschauungsrecht (ifw), founded by the gbs, has now published a draft law on this issue, with which the "fundamentalist-friendly censorship paragraph" could easily be abolished.

Furthermore, the elaborately designed annual magazine of the Giordano Bruno Foundation reports, among other things, on the Secular Bus Campaign 2019, the "Karlsruhe Verdict and its Enemies" and "Rationality in the (Coronavirus) Crisis". 92 Percent of Germans Abstain from Church Services [11]

fowid publishes statistics on religious beliefs 2019

At the end of last year, the proportion of non-denominational people in the population had risen to 38.8 percent, while the proportion of Catholics and Protestants had fallen to 27.1 and 24.9 percent respectively. This is the result of the statistics "Religious affiliations 2019" published today by the "Forschungsgruppe Weltanschauungen in Deutschland" (fowid - Research Group on Worldviews in Germany). For the first time, the data sheet also includes an analysis of "lived religion", which shows that only 7.9 percent of people living in Germany can be considered "practicing believers".
