Bibi Binot was born in 1942 in Reudnitz/Vogtland. After her apprenticeship as an industrial management assistant, she worked from 1963-66 as management secretary in a large gastronomic company and then as editorial secretary in a Cologne publishing house ("Neue Illustrierte"). From the end of the 60s, she and her husband managed a company in the electrical industry (Binot Steuerungstechnik GmbH).

After her husband's death in 1994, she independently managed the company, which had since specialized in "control engineering", until its sale in 2002. Bibi Binot is a member of the gbs board of trustees and is responsible for finance and administration within the foundation.
