gbs Documentary "In Humanity We Trust – The story of evolutionary humanism"

With "In Humanity We Trust - The story of evolutionary humanism" Ricarda Hinz has produced an impressive documentary to mark the 10th anniversary of the Giordano Bruno Foundation. The 45-minute film depicts the sensational campaigns with which the Foundation has come to public attention since 2004, but also explains the background that led the first Director General of UNESCO, Julian Huxley, to propose evolutionary humanism as a framework model for a better future.

Big Family - A Fantastic Journey into the Past (Video)

"Welcome to a fantastic journey into the past!" The 18-minute video "Big Family" tells the story of evolution as the family history of a child travelling back to its ancestors from the distant past. The Düsseldorf filmmaker Ricarda Hinz impressively adapted the book of the same name by Michael Schmidt-Salomon and Anne-Barbara-Kindler. Film and book are part of the Evokids teaching material for primary schools.

Children of Evolution (Video)

On behalf of the gbs Ricarda Hinz produced the music video "Darwin & The Naked Apes: Children of Evolution" in the Darwin Year 2009. Michael Schmidt-Salomon wrote the music and lyrics, and the actor Walter Gonterman stars as rocking Darwin. The Giordano Bruno Foundation used the video to promote its campaign "Evolution Day rather than Ascension Day" – with success: The clip was among the most viewed and most highly rated educational videos on YouTube in February 2009.

Deschner Prize for Richard Dawkins (Video)

In 2007 the Giordano Bruno Foundation awarded the "Deschner Prize" for the first time. The prizewinner was British evolutionary biologist and critic of religion Richard Dawkins. This short clip gives impressions of the ceremony in the auditorium of the University of Frankfurt.

Award Ceremony for Paola Cavalieri and Peter Singer (Video)

Evelin Frerk and Ricarda Hinz filmed the ceremony for the award of the Giordano Bruno Foundation's Ethics Prize to the initiators of the Great Ape Project, Paola Cavalieri and Peter Singer. The video by Ricarda Hinz ("gbs-Ethikpreis anPeter Singer") focuses on the central aspects of the speeches, the film by Evelin Frerk ("Ethik-Preis-2011-Festakt") depicts the actual procedure of the award ceremony in the German National Library.

ne highlight of the Frankfurt Darwin Festival was the premiere of the amusing short film "Susie Smartypants explains the evolution" based on the book with the same name by Michael Schmidt-Salomon and Helge Nyncke, published just in time for Darwin's birthday. Directed by Ricarda Hinz, Lileas Baumhögger took on the role of Susi Neunmalklug, who explains to her pious teacher Hempelmann the real story of the origin of the world and the development of species...
