In order to create a critical counter-public to the expected media spectacle around the Catholic World Youth Day, the Giordano Bruno Stiftung, in cooperation with other groups, is organizing a series of events alongside the WYD (August 15-21, 2005) under the motto: "Religion-free zone: Heathen fun instead of hell’s torture".

In addition to lectures by Carsten Frerk, Franz Buggle, Michael Schmidt-Salomon, and Horst Herrmann, there will be concerts, parties, a Deschner movie night, and much more in Cologne.
