Barnickel, Thorsten
Dr. Thorsten Barnickel, biologist and bioinformatician
Thorsten Barnickel was born in 1979 in Regensburg. After studying biology in Regensburg and Heidelberg, and postgraduate bioinformatic studies in Berlin, he received his PhD on semantic search engines at the Helmholtz Zentrum München. Today he works as a patent attorney in Wiesbaden. His main interests include questions of evolutionary biology, philosophy, and criticism of religion.
Thorsten Barnickel has been supporting the work of the Giordano Bruno Stiftung for many years. His activities include working for the gbs regional group in Mainz, managing the homepages of several secular projects, and supporting the gbs regional groups in setting up their own websites.
